Dr. Yan Li received her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, specializing in Cell and Molecular Biology where she quickly realized that she very much preferred working with human than microscopic creatures. She then continued her studies at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Sciences and graduated with honours in 2019. As part of her training, Dr. Li had the opportunity to complete one of her clinical rotations in Hong Kong and managed a variety of ocular diseases in Pinellas Park, Florida. An optometric mission trip also brought her to Moldova, where she provided eye care to the local underprivileged population and thoroughly enjoyed every part of it.
Exposure to clinical settings internationally encouraged her adopt a versatile approach in practice. Over the years, she has worked on incorporating more therapeutic options here at Parkview Optometry, including specialty scleral contact lenses for ocular conditions like Dry Eye Syndrome and Keratoconus. Dr. Li is excited to meet patients of all ages and is looking forward to giving back to the local community.
