Dr. Rutu Patel joined the Parkview Optometry team in 2019, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence in eye care. Specializing in comprehensive eye exams for all ages, contact lens fittings, dry eye treatment, post-operative surgical eye care, and ocular disease management, Dr. Patel is dedicated to ensuring the optimal vision and eye health of her patients.
Dr. Patel’s academic journey began with an undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Windsor, followed by the completion of her doctorate at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2018. Throughout her education, she pursued various externships across the United States, gaining invaluable experience in VA hospitals, corporate, and private settings. Upon graduation, she made the decision to return to her Canadian roots, eager to serve the local community. Dr. Patel is both Canadian and American-board certified.
Dr. Patel is particularly passionate about pediatric optometry, advocating strongly for the early detection and treatment of myopia in children. Drawing from her extensive clinical experience, which includes school screenings, she emphasizes the importance of proactive eye care from a young age.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Patel offers exams in Hindi and Gujarati. Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Patel enjoys trying new recipes and exploring new destinations with her husband.
